Can I take Lipitor and Sukkarto together?

Why this happens

Lipitor (atorvastatin) works in the liver to lower cholesterol, while Sukkarto (metformin) works by improving how your body responds to insulin and reducing the amount of sugar your liver produces. They are processed by different pathways in the body and do not interfere with each other's effectiveness.

What you should do

You can safely take these medicines together. It is important to take them exactly as your doctor has prescribed. Sukkarto is usually best taken with or after a meal to reduce the chance of an upset stomach. If you experience any unusual muscle pain or weakness (a rare side effect of Lipitor), you should inform your doctor.
