Taking sildenafil (Viagra) and levothyroxine together is generally safe, but there is a small chance that sildenafil could slightly change how much thyroid hormone is in your blood. This might make your thyroid medication slightly more or less effective.

Why this happens
Both medications are processed by the liver. Some studies suggest that sildenafil might interfere with the proteins that carry thyroid hormone through your blood, or affect the enzymes that break the drugs down, though this effect is usually very small.
What you should do

If you start taking sildenafil regularly, your doctor may want to check your thyroid levels (TSH test) to ensure your levothyroxine dose is still correct. Always take your levothyroxine on an empty stomach, at least 30 to 60 minutes before breakfast, to ensure it is absorbed properly.
