Why this happens

Both '20ug/h transdermal' and 'Butrans' contain the same active ingredient: buprenorphine. Using both at the same time leads to an additive effect, meaning the level of the drug in your bloodstream will be much higher than intended.

Do not use both of these products at the same time. You should only use one buprenorphine patch at a time as prescribed by your doctor. If you have accidentally applied both, remove them immediately and seek urgent medical advice. If you feel very sleepy or have trouble breathing, call 999 or go to A&E immediately.
