Why this happens

Both medicines affect the central nervous system. When used together, their sedative effects can add up (pharmacodynamic interaction). While they do not significantly change each other's levels in the blood, their combined impact on brain chemistry increases the likelihood of side effects.

You should use caution when starting this combination. Do not drive or operate machinery until you are certain the medicines do not make you too drowsy or dizzy. It is illegal to drive if your driving is impaired by these medicines. Contact your doctor immediately if you develop a skin rash, fever, or swollen glands. Always follow your doctor's specific dosing instructions.
