Why this happens

Prednisolone is a corticosteroid that can sometimes irritate the lining of the stomach. While paracetamol is usually gentle on the stomach, taking it alongside steroids for a long time may increase the risk of digestive upset. Both drugs are processed by the liver, though they do not directly interfere with each other's metabolism.

You can take these two medicines together. However, it is best to avoid or strictly limit alcohol while taking paracetamol, as combining them increases the risk of liver damage. If you need to take both for more than a few days, or if you have a history of stomach ulcers or liver problems, speak to your doctor or pharmacist.
