Can I take Acil th and Zenacort together?

Drug interaction guide

Both of these medications contain the same type of drug (a corticosteroid). Taking them together can lead to an overdose of steroid medication, which increases the risk of side effects such as high blood pressure, weight gain, thinning skin, and weakened bones. It can also suppress your body's natural ability to produce its own hormones.

Why this happens

Acil TH (which contains triamcinolone) and Zenacort (which also contains triamcinolone) have an additive effect. Because they are the same active ingredient, using both simultaneously increases the total dose of the steroid in your system beyond the recommended level.

Do not take these two medications together unless specifically instructed by a specialist. You should speak to your doctor or pharmacist immediately to clarify your prescription, as you may be taking a double dose of the same medicine.
