Can I take Atorvastatin and Calcium together?

Drug interaction guide

Taking calcium supplements at the same time as atorvastatin may slightly lower the amount of the medicine that gets into your bloodstream. Why this happens

Calcium carbonate can act like a mild antacid. When taken together, it may slightly reduce the absorption of atorvastatin from the digestive tract, leading to lower levels of the drug in the blood.

You can continue to take both, as this interaction is not considered clinically significant for most people. To be extra cautious, you can take them at different times of the day (for example, atorvastatin in the evening and calcium in the morning), but this is not strictly necessary unless advised by your doctor.
