Can I take Clopodogrel and Magnesium together?

Why this happens

Magnesium can interfere with the absorption of clopidogrel in the digestive tract. Additionally, some magnesium-based antacids increase the pH of the stomach, which can alter how the medication dissolves and enters the bloodstream.

To be safe, it is best to separate the doses. Take your clopidogrel at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after taking any magnesium supplements or antacids. If you are taking magnesium for a specific medical condition, discuss the timing with your pharmacist or doctor.
