Can I take Crestor and Pepcid ac together?

Taking Pepcid AC (famotidine) at the same time as Crestor (rosuvastatin) can lower the amount of Crestor that your body absorbs. This might make your cholesterol medication less effective at lowering your 'bad' cholesterol levels.

Why this happens

Pepcid AC reduces the amount of acid in your stomach. Crestor needs a certain level of acidity to be absorbed properly into your bloodstream. When stomach acid is lowered, less of the medicine gets into your system.

You can still take both medications, but you should space them out. Take your Crestor at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after taking Pepcid AC to ensure your body absorbs the full dose of your cholesterol medicine.
