Can I take Vitamin B complex and Vitamin C together?

Why this happens

Both Vitamin B complex and Vitamin C are water-soluble. This means they do not build up in the body; instead, the body uses what it needs and flushes out any excess through urine. They do not interfere with each other's absorption or metabolism.

It is perfectly safe to take these together. For the best absorption, take them with a glass of water. Since Vitamin B can sometimes be stimulating, taking them in the morning is usually best to avoid any disruption to your sleep.

Bleeding disorders

Rosehip contains vitamin C and other compounds that may slow blood clotting. This can increase the risk of bruising and bleeding, particularly if you are already taking blood-thinning medications or have a scheduled surgery.

Kidney stones (renal calculi)

High doses of vitamin C can increase the amount of oxalate in your urine, which significantly raises the risk of developing kidney stones, especially if you have had them before.

G6PD deficiency

Very high doses of vitamin C can cause oxidative stress and lead to the breakdown of red blood cells (haemolysis) in individuals with G6PD deficiency.

Alcohol

It is best to avoid or strictly limit alcohol while taking Vitamin B complex. Alcohol interferes with the absorption of B vitamins and can increase the rate at which your body loses them, making the supplement less effective. Additionally, chronic alcohol use can lead to B vitamin deficiencies.

Caffeine (Coffee/Tea)

Caffeine can act as a mild diuretic, which may increase the rate at which water-soluble vitamins like B complex and Vitamin C are flushed out of your body through urine. It is best to take your vitamins with water rather than tea or coffee.
