Can I take Calcium and Ciprofloxacin together?

Why this happens

Calcium binds to the ciprofloxacin in your stomach or gut, forming a 'complex' that is too large for your body to absorb. Instead of entering your blood, the medicine simply passes through your system.

What you should do

Do not take calcium supplements, antacids containing calcium, or large amounts of dairy products at the same time as ciprofloxacin. You should take ciprofloxacin at least 2 hours before or 6 hours after taking any calcium-containing products.
