This vibrant tomatillo and avocado salsa is a refreshing vegan dip that brings a hit of authentic Mexican flavour to any gathering. Unlike traditional cooked sauces, this version relies on raw, finely diced ingredients to create a wonderful textural contrast. The zesty tomatillos provide a sharp, citrus-like base that cuts through the rich, creamy avocado, while the serrano chillies add a subtle, lingering heat. It is a brilliant choice for a summer appetiser or a bright topping for grilled vegetables.
Naturally plant-based and gluten-free, this salsa is an excellent addition to a healthy snack spread. Draining the tomatillos ensures the finished dip stays chunky rather than watery, making it much easier to scoop up with shop-bought tortilla chips. Whether you are hosting a casual drinks evening or looking for a punchy accompaniment to your favourite tacos, this versatile salsa is sure to be a crowd-pleaser.
