Spiced Sweet Potato Gratin

This spiced sweet potato gratin is a vibrant vegetarian dish that brings a warm, aromatic twist to the traditional vegetable bake. Infused with a fragrant blend of curry powder, cumin, and ginger, the naturally sweet tubers are layered with tangy soured cream and sharp white cheddar. The result is a beautifully golden, savoury gratin that balances gentle heat and rich creaminess in every bite, making it an excellent centrepiece for a seasonal lunch or a festive supper.

Perfect for entertaining, this hearty gratin can be prepared in advance and reheated just before serving. The use of a springform pan creates impressive, clean-cut wedges that look elegant on the plate alongside a crisp green salad. It is a comforting, vegetable-led meal that manages to feel both sophisticated and wonderfully wholesome for the whole family.
