There are no known significant interactions between black garlic and rosehip. Both are generally considered safe to take together as dietary supplements.
Why this happens
Black garlic and rosehip (which is a natural source of vitamin C) work through different pathways in the body. Black garlic contains aged compounds like S-allyl cysteine, while rosehip provides antioxidants and vitamin C. They do not interfere with each other's absorption or breakdown in the liver.
What you should do
It is safe to take these together. However, if you are taking blood-thinning medication (like warfarin) or have an upcoming surgery, you should inform your doctor, as high doses of garlic can sometimes increase the risk of bleeding.
Important precautions
Surgery or dental procedures
Black garlic can significantly thin the blood and increase the risk of bleeding. You must stop taking it at least two weeks before any scheduled surgery or dental work.
Food and drink warnings
Alcohol
Black garlic may have a mild blood-thinning effect. While there is no direct contraindication, excessive alcohol consumption can also thin the blood and increase the risk of bleeding or bruising. Use alcohol in moderation.
