This easy crustless quiche is a fantastic option for those who want all the rich, savoury flavours of a traditional tart without the fuss of pastry. By swapping the crust for a light coating of breadcrumbs, you create a delicate texture that allows the creamy custard, salty ham, and nutty Swiss cheese to take centre stage. It is an ideal dish for using up store-cupboard staples, resulting in a golden, bubbling bake that works just as well for a weekend brunch as it does for a speedy midweek supper.
As a versatile vegetarian-friendly base that is easily adapted, this dish is naturally high in protein and lighter than its pastry-clad counterparts. Serve it warm from the oven or at room temperature, accompanied by a crisp green salad and perhaps some new potatoes for a more substantial meal. It is a reliable, comforting recipe that provides a sophisticated touch to your home cooking with minimal preparation required.
