This classic oyster casserole is a sophisticated seafood dish that celebrates the delicate, salty flavour of fresh oysters. By combining shucked oysters with a rich, savoury custard and toasted breadcrumbs, you create a high-protein bake that is both comforting and elegant. The golden crust provides a satisfying crunch that contrasts beautifully with the tender oysters and silky cream base.
Ideal for a special weekend brunch or as a refined starter for a dinner party, this homemade dish is straightforward to prepare yet feels truly indulgent. Serve it hot from the oven with a crisp green salad or some steamed samphire to balance the richness. For the best results, ensure your oysters are patted dry before adding them to the mixture to maintain the perfect texture.
