Can I take Allupurinol and Ramipril together?

Why this happens

Both medicines can affect the immune system and how the kidneys filter waste. When used together, they can cause the body to overreact (hypersensitivity) or slow down the production of blood cells. Additionally, allopurinol may slightly increase the levels of ramipril in the blood.

What you should do

You can take these together, but your doctor should monitor you closely, especially when starting the treatment or changing doses. Seek medical help immediately if you develop a skin rash, hives, swelling of the face or throat, or a fever. Your doctor may perform regular blood tests to check your kidney function and blood cell counts.
